Our HistoryTom Thumb was founded in 1964 by Tom Smith and his son in law, Jim McCarthy, with a single store in Miami, Florida. With the success of this location, more locations were opened and the company now owns and operates 15 Tom Thumb locations. In the 1970's, Tom Thumb added petroleum to the long list of services available to consumers. In the mid-1990's, Tom Thumb added Subway restaurants. We now operate 9 Subway restaurants - both in Tom Thumb locations and 'free-standing' locations - throughout South Florida. Tom Thumb is currently undergoing a re-imagining of our branding with remodels in our store locations to better serve our guests.
